Why are there no maps in the BART station???? There's a map on the upper level by the ticket dispenser but nothing down here and I often bypass the ticket dispenser b/c I'll have a prepurchased ticket in hand. I've lived here for 7 years and it still drives me nuts that there's no subway map down here. It must be completely baffling for tourists. --may-- |
blue angels Sat 10.11.03 5:57pm PDT #6729 |
Am on the roof of my building where I just watched the blue angels perform their death defying stunts over the city as part of the annual fleet week celebrations. (not quick enough unforunately to snap a pic) In past years they'd fly in between the towers here and set off all the car alarms in the neighborhood...not this year though....I think 9/11 and the war have made people more than a little skittish about planes flying in between buildings. --may-- |
random acts of kindness Fri 10.10.03 7:29pm PDT #6712 |
was on the bus today when the man sitting next to me got up, approached a woman sitting across from us, put a $20 bill in her hand, and said "I think you dropped this" and then got off the bus. She looked a little embarassed and said "I can be clumsy like that." I didn't really think much of it until I looked closer and saw that her clothes were tattered, her feet unwashed and bandaged....and what initially looked like a really big tattered coat to me was actually a blanket. She also carried a plastic bag with a roll of toilet paper in it. --may-- |
