(trying again, hoping there's pics)

The previous owner of our townhouse customized the "half-bath" on the first floor. It has a beautiful faux finish, antique brass fixtures, and a pedestal sink.

Unfortunately, the brass toilet paper holder was loose, so I removed it to see what the matter was. I found a 2-inch hole in the wall behind it. The brass fixture was held in place by two 4-inch screws and expansion-clip wall anchors.

So I've removed all the anchors and screws, cleaned and sanded the hole, filled it with joint compound and covered it with a 3-inch wall patch (metal screen) which I then spackled. Now I get to wait a day or two before I sand it down.

...and all that before I have to match the two paints used for the faux finish so I can repaint it in the same sponge finish.
