| Happy Father's day to me!!! Sun 06.17.07 7:51am PDT #21271 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My wife and daughter surprised me with an early morning wake up for Father's day. Since I had to work last year, this year meant a lot to me. To think how much my baby's grown in that time, and now to see her running all around the place.... If you're a Daddy and haven't gotten "Daddy's Girl" by Garrison Keillor, then you truly haven't had a Father's day. I cried like a bitch by the end... Now to perk up, 'cause Mexican brunch at the Blue Moon cafe is on the agenda... |

![]() ![]() ![]() Steve Jobs reportedly said that the best way to get an iPhone is to avoid the mobs at the Apple Stores by going to an AT&T/Cingular store at 6pm on June 29th. Even with 170 Apple and 1,800 AT&T stores, everyone is predicting long lines of geeks camping out to avoid the shortage that is sure to follow. My current plan is to go into work that day to attend a staff meeting until noon and then head out to the AT&T store on Rockville Pike (pictured) across from White Flint Mall in North Bethesda, MD. That's the location closest to my house. There's plenty of parking, and some of the stores nearby should have restrooms and food to buy. Now I need to find another crazy person to go with me. - mike lee |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We set up the "Bounce Mania" inflatable moon bounce from KB Toys in the backyard today for Cici. The thing sells for a little over $100 and is made of the same material as those inflatable Xmas decorations. It set up as quickly as those--in about 10 minutes. Cici didn't play in it as long as we thought. We think having other kids in it would make it more exciting for her. I see elsewhere online that there are some amazing options out there for nflatable bounce products. - mike lee - wheaton, md |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I missed the years where it wandered itinerant, but the new site (at Lake Anna Winery) is promising. Lots of Pennsylvania vendors and many familiar faces, but slightly too much sun at the upper section of the site. Reminded me very much of Scarborough that way. The photos are 1) the alpaca booth, which was clever... they use the wool to teach patrons how to spin on a tredle machine, 2) pay a buck to make your kid wear himself out throwing a rock, 3) HRH explaining the difference between a pirate and privateer and why the young lad should claim to be the latter whenever asked by royalty, and 4) some irony for a small bunch of MD regulars who'll get it. (The sign indicates there's no smoking in the pub. I'm evil. But I couldn't resist.) Some shots of the Pyrates during Pub Sing (with Capt. Fletcher T. Moone indicating you must be this tall to join the crew) and the younger Strum leading a rousing rendition of Old MacDonald. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The best random-posting I have ever seen. If this means something, I admit I don't know what. These things were all over a street corner near the metra on lightpoles, etc. I tried really hard to pull one off intact, but they kept starting to rip, so I settled for some pics. I got as close as I could so you could read the words. It was weird ass crazy religious babble. I'm not sure if this is like, lyrics from some bands song, and this is some poster for their show; or this is some sort of art piece; or if it's seriously just a crazy person who did this, and that's his ex gf. The pics are awesome. It looks sort of like Tara Reid, and then there's nail polish painted on every one over the eyes and mouth, sloppily. I don't know why but I really enjoyed the craziness of all of it. Note the one where they're positioned on the traffic signs and light pole in such a way as to almost mimic a cross. Genius. ------------------------ Bird (Graci) -tinyurl.com/ytchdw "It's easy to regret your awkward conversations but hard to regret the ones you didn't have." |
