There's been a flurry of tech-related news....near and dear to my geek heart are the closeness of the SideKick OTA and Treo 600 launch. I've threaded ad nauseaum about the Treo 600 more than I did with SideKick when I first heard about it on what used to be known as ZDTV (now TechTV).

Tomorrow is full day of training for Moving to ND6 = Notes/Domino 6. Since I'll get to work earlier than usual, I may stop by the cafe to get waffle served w/bananas foster sauce & bacon; and for lunch beef w/sweet & sour and Singapore sauce over steamed rice. Co-worker has been tweaking Mimesweeper and gathering statistics on the never-ending spam problem, as a result the pager alerts were constant. Looking forward to a quiet weekend with DramaKween & JigNeNe, we may go catch a movie because next week is my "on-call" week. I haven't noticed whether the pages are heavy @ night (which bugs SaxyHC) so when I'm on- call I try to sleep with it under the pillow.

A U.S. court in Oklahoma has blocked the national "do not call" list that would allow consumers to stop most unwanted telephone sales calls, the Direct Marketing Association said on Wednesday.

A California antispam bill passed the Senate on Wednesday, a first step toward the passage of a law that would give people the right to sue spammers. The bill....allows any Californian who receives an unsolicited ad via e-mail to sue the sender in court for $500 per violation; and judges can triple the fine if they find that the sender willfully and knowingly violated the California ban....also requires courts to impose an additional $250 civil penalty per spam to be used to fund high-tech crime task forces throughout the state. Under current law, only a city attorney, district attorney, the state Attorney General and ISPs can go after spammers in court.

hurt from so much walking around yesterday at the LA County Fair. It was hot, smoggy and packed with people of all ages and sizes. We certainly ate enough artery clogging food. I made sure I picked up the Fair staple of kettle corn on our way out. Didn't make it to the EWF concert. Found out it was sold out a week before and even the general admission/freebie seats were gone. That's OK, because we'll see them on 12/26 with the Isley Bros for some kind of comedy festival.

Met up with my school girlfriend and her family. Our kids had a good time and we "lost" them a few times because the walkie talkies kept picking up cross-traffic. We picked up the Miracle Knives that everyone has seen in informericials and some Gilroy garlic seasonnings. We usually come home w/a lot more junk. SaxyHC and DramaKween are still sleeping. JigNeNe and I are up just chatting and she's explaining to me how the blinky lights work that we bought @ the Fair.

Hope everyone daily routine turns back to what they would call normal on the areas ravaged by Isabel. I'm gonna "play" with my PC and finally install that USB 2.0 card & 160GB hard drive, Ciao 4 Now :)

Last night after SaxyHC finished the high school band gig thing, we went out to dinner @ my fave place -- The Cheesecake Factory in Old Town Pasadena. The place was packed as usual as they don't take reservations and won't seat you until your entire party is there. While we were waiting to be called, he went to the local Apple store to check out the G4 and IPODs. I had the Herb Crusted Salmon Salad and SaxyHC had the Shrimp Jumbalaya. We had some sort of crispy salmon appetizer with hot chili sauce. The girls just wanted "bread and water"....huh??, and of course shared dessert. We had a chance to finally relax and joke around with each other.

Today is the family junket to the L.A. County Fair @ the Pomona Fairplex. We're hooking up with my Jr./Sr. high school buddy and her 4 girls and hubby this afternoon. SaxyHC doesn't want to stay at the fair all day but we're staying later because we want to catch the Earth, Wind & Fire show @ the fair this evening. We have our walkie talkies so that we can stay in close contact with each other. I'll be taking pictures of the sights while we're @ the fair. It should be F-U-N!!

Gave into another one of my cravings...Philly's Best mushroom cheesesteaak with onions & provolone cheese with Frank's Vanilla Creme soda , Wise salt & vinegar chips and the very delicious Tastycakes chocolate kandy cakes I used to make a twice monthly trip to the original locale in Fountain Valley when I used to work in that area in the 90s. They now have 9 locations.

Now if only they'd bring a Cheesecake Factory and plop it down across the street, I'd be in food bliss and quite a few lbs heavier than I already am.

Got the {ivo set up to record the season premieres of 7th Heaven and Everwood tonite. Debating on whether to attempt to go in as a walkin to get my hair redone. Its been looking scraggly these days.
