Malfunctioning hiptop has finally been replaced so am back...And while this is not the kind of post I wanted to be tapping out, I will do this just once and that will be it.

I've managed to avoid turning on the TV this week but of course "news" manages to get to me over the internet whether I want it or not. And while I'm sure most of the protesters in our cities mean well, I can't help but think that there are two groups we should be thinking about right now.

1. The children of the many who will no doubt die in this war. They are the ones who will suffer most and whose bitterness will haunt us later. If you really are concerned, please don't try to shut down our nation's businesses...put your concern where it will have a tangible effect and find ways to support humanitarian efforts financially (yes where it hits you most) or through other means. (Puking and knitting for peace in public isn't going to help the people who need it no matter how much better it will make you feel)

2. People who are on the fence. Alienating them will only push them into the camp that will put people in office in future elections you will later regret. And the disruption you're causing will only make those who already support this war even firmer in their convictions. Please think beyond the present and your need to express yourself. Think about the future and the fact that 2/3 of Americans support this war. How do you reach them? Not by blocking traffic...just ask...that will only make them want to run you down. So what then do you accomplish?
