Lissen up here kids... back in my day we didn't have no fancy iTunes or Windows Media Player. We didn't even have mp3s back in that day. I used to download 100meg wav files on a 14.4 connection just to hear rare b-sides from my favorite bands. And you were lucky to download it all without your sister picking up the phone and killing the connection. There was no download resume either! We had no eye candy to react to our music, but we made do with Acid Warp. Hours upon hours were spent in a dark room, eyes glued to this simple yet entrancing DOS program. Yeah, those were the days....

Ok, so I cheated and spent some more of the bonus on a new monitor. Hey, it's better than hauling 3 huge CRTs cross-country! And it was on sale. Amazing how much deskspace it frees up.

I got tired of lugging the laptop back and forth between upstairs and downstairs so I can work downstairs and then watch movies in bed. So I snagged a wireless card for one of the desktops and brought it upstairs. Right now it's the poor man's setup, but if it works out (and the wireless starts behaving) it'll do for the next 2 months. Plus the LCD should be here tomorrow so that will save some space too.
