![]() ![]() Rule-governed system of symbols used to represent and communicate information. That's what I'm doing in trig :/ memorizing the Chapter 7: Thought and Language Quest passage. I skipped out if it twice so far, as I haven't had a chance to sit down and remember it all. I'm on my second paper full of passage copying :D happy to say I have 2/3rds done! -- Teehee |

| School caught on fire today Mon 03.26.07 10:19am PDT #20705 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So today, I was in Texas scholars practice and it took us a while to get in alpha order and we finally got there and the fire alarm went off. We just kinda stood there and were like uhhh do we leave? Cause the fire alarm randomly goes off because of the construction and usually it's a false alarm. Anyways, we left and then we heard sirens. And smelled BBQ :P We ended up with 6 fire trucks, 4 fire pickup trucks, 2 ambulances, 1 ems truck, 2 police, and several sherriffs because they were painting tar on the roof and it caught on fire. Nobody was hurt. And they made everyone sit in the stadium for like 2.5 hrs. They gave us bottles of water, but people just started pouring them on each other in my section and some kid told a teacher "it just started raining right here" haha http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/4661532.html -sAmI k- |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It's a sunny and bearbly chilly Monday morning here at the Sea Crest. Professor John's assistant Amna sweetly gifted us with waterfront rooms last night. After a short walk on the sand, I got on wifi to savor my "good morning daddy" photo. Dinner last night was back at the Roo Bar on Main Street of Falmouth. Becky talked about impressions from her recent first trip to the TED conference. Saeko of Cleanup and John talked about the possible link between the act of cooking and brain health. Maybe there should be a show on Food Network called "Cooking for Cortex!" Conference registration and lunch are next up and I have to pull a few slides to do a 7-minute talk this afternoon. - mike lee - falmouth, ma |

Spent the weekend sulking. Didn't have enough ice cream in the house to do it properly, but I gave it a go. Got a rejection letter Friday from the company I thought probably most closely synched up with the skills gained at my former employer. It was polite: a "we don't think any of our openings match up with your skillset right now," which is palliative until you realize that they have 406 openings right now in Northern Virginia. So what they really meant was, "We don't like you." Which hurts. I'm smart. I'm a really hard worker. I have all sorts of mad skillz, including the ability to spell "skills" appropriately in context. But I think everything happens for a reason, so I'm hopeful that it's so that I get hooked up with The Right Company and not just another place to work. Noticed ThinkGeek is hiring and threw them the resume. I'd *love* to work with them, but so would half the D.C. area, I'm sure. *crosses fingers* So... anybody know of a job opening in Northern Virginia where I would fit well? Resume here, just in case.
