So the keyboards over here are very odd. There's inexplicably a downshift, which is where the at symbol is. And the Z and the Y are in opposite spots. Which probably makes sense to someone. And there's a angle bracket where the shift normally is, so I keep typing http<<<<<< into the browser. And Graz is beautiful and meaty, but if you're friends with me, you'll be subjected to that later so I'll leave it at that.

My Asus Eee PC 701 4G arrived today from NewEgg. This little open source ultra-light laptop is getting rave reviews.

In addition to a raft of useful utilities such as the music player, photo viewer, internet radio, Skype, Pidgin IM and more, the web browser can easily handle Ajax, Flash, Java, and PDFs. I was even able to log into and load our Java-based corporate Citrix server to view time sheets.

There's already a lot of buzz on the forums with people trading tweaks and hacks.

Along with the start of mass production of the other famous laptop, the era of the cloudbook is here.
