I assume it's safe to blog about being in the beta program now. My 2gb Eye-Fi wireless SD Card arrived today. Definitely an improvement over the 512mb beta device I had. If everything works as well as it did in beta, then it should be great!

Amy and I went to the Uptown tonight to catch the very last show of the limited DC screening of the final cut version of Blade Runner. The future noir vision and special effects still hold up by today's standards. This classic endures. My only quibble for the night was that the theater screen brightness was a bit too dim for my taste.

My Chumby got here today after a long trip from China. Can't wait to get home and plug him in and see what he can do. Still not entirely sure what the future holds for him.

The link to order the XO laptop at http://www.laptopgiving.org appeared at 6am EST sharp and I placed my order without a problem. At $399, this is a great deal given that this funds an a laptop for a child in a developing country, T-mobile is tossing in one-year of WiFi Hotspot access and you can write of half of the cost as a tax deduction. The offer is available for two more weeks until November 26th. Spread the word!

I made quite a few important purchases, today! My mom wanted to go buy some blankets at Marshall's which is also by Jo-Ann's and a Big Lots, all 3 have things I have desperately been desiring lately, namely:

Lots of yarn and needles
Kick ass gloves
And my own pair of duck pants so Eirik, Andrew and I can rock duck pants together.

I am so happy.

A trip to Ikea and a few hours of work and I now have a rolling media center that all works off of a single power plug. No more playing AV boy whenever we want to watch a movie. I even got one of my old wrt54g routers (running dd-wrt) to act as a wireless bridge for the Xbox so that Xbox Media Center can access my media on shared network drives. The only thing left is to get a good pair of speakers to supplement the subwoofer. Pics are probaly too dark to show, but I've got a projector up top, xbox with wireless contoller in the middle, and wrt54g router and subwoofer on the bottom shelf. Two triple plugs daisy chained and an extra long power cord.

Finally dipping into some wine I bought from woot.wine.com awhile ago. Not too bad!
