I was at keplers books in menlo park, CA when I saw this book. I used my hiptop to see what amazons price was - amazon said it (hardcover) was out of print so I bought it on the spot from keplers (which I like to support anyways). Woot! - jdm

My wife is also hooked on Animal Crossing... I think she is more excited for haloween *in the game* than in real life. (For those who don't know, Animal Crossing is a GameCube game that takes place in *real-time* by reading from the GC clock - so special events happen on holidays, and the store actually closes at 10pm!)

I got it for her on friday and she played it for 5 hours that night (until Nook's closed). In fact she ignored me most of the weekend for the game! (heh, turnabout is fair play I guess ;) Today we planted 2x 30,000b (bells) money trees - so in a few days we should get about 180,000b back... ;). She has already paid off her 148,000b mortgage... so tomorrow her house should be even bigger!

Did you know you can "trade" items by providing your town name / character name and then a special code for the item? Yeah, the town name and character name acts as a seed for the RNG and then the code hashes into a table based off the seed... pretty cool... so if you wanted to send one of those 15,000b Ceolocanths over this way, heheh...

Beautiful day today. I walk 1.1 miles to work every day and today was just gorgeous... 5:23 pm and about 80 degrees. In these 2 pictures you can see the view from a small bridge I cross (Oracle in the background) and a crew team out rowing.... - jdm

...my high school hang out. (I grew up in Menlo Park, went to Menlo-Atherton High (about 1/2 mile from the cafe) and have since graduated college and moved to far-away Redwood Shores... (about 10 miles north))

Also right next door to the best independant bookstore on the peninsula, (well, since Stacy's Palo Alto closed) Keplers. Must be doing your laundry at the place next to Applewood-2-go, and the place with the neon "Swedish Clogs" sign (my friends and I often debate the cost-effectiveness of a neon swedish clogs sign).

Hrrmmm - what *other* technology startup used to be right across the street... in the charles schwabb building... hmmm...
