I'm on campus taking care of some paperwork, and just demoed the Sidekick to Rich Lipscher, who teaches 3D modeling and animation. The two-shot is a self-portrait and that's Rich on the left. Rich was telling me that their 3D print service is in full swing. Students and faculty can create wireframe models in Solidworks, and with the press of a button, the machine creates a real object. It takes about 3 hours for the machine to build up something the size of a baseball. The other frames are some not-so-great shots of some of the output. And that's Angelo who works at the computer lab support desk.
