at the mariners temple baptist church. I was lured inside by the sound of gospel music emanating from this building which is apparently the oldest baptist church in manhattan. Lot's of swaying and dancing and whooping and clapping...raising of arms and shouting of praise the lord! So much exuberant joy! The Rev. Henrietta Carter presided and started off by saying "when it gets this hot in NY, it's a reminder to me that I really don't want to end up in hell!" amen!
