I got into a cab tonight and my cab driver has what sounds like canto-pop on his stereo...he drives about a block and then without any provocation, begins SINGING out loud at the top of his lungs completely oblivious to me in the back.

"What's that you're singing?", I asked him after about a mile. "Thai music," he said. "Oh, are you Thai?" "No, I'm from Burma. The Thai and Burmese don't really like each other, did you know that? But I don't care, I like this song anyways..."

He then proceeded to tell me that in Thailand, you can be imprisoned for life if you are a Thai citizen caught with one ounce of marijuana...well, if you're a Thai citizen who doesn't know the right people...

He had a great voice.
