Weird...I'm sitting at the Royal Ground cafe on Polk Street and a perfect stranger (older gentleman...maybe in his late 50s or early 60s) sees the Sidekick on the table, sits down next to me, and asks if it's some new kind of Palm device...

well sort of, I say, and proceed to show him everything it can do. (by now I feel rather disturbingly like a salesperson because this happens to me at least once every other day and i've got the whole spiel memorized...yesterday it was an old chinese lady at the bus stop who stopped and asked me if that was some new gameboy I was tapping away at. I'm assuming she has grandchildren and that's why she even knows what a gameboy is...is this happening to everyone else as well?)

anyways, he is SO EXCITED when I show him that it actually has a camera too and that I can email pics to him on the fly. And that it costs a mere $99. Apparently he is using a blackberry that is not nearly as cool. He is so genuinely thrilled, writes down the name of the device on a napkin, thanks me profusely...and then leaves me his number...
