a present just arrived in the mail today that makes me so happy!...a book of photographs called Once, by Wim Wenders. Each series of photos begins with the word "ONCE" as in "Once, I was in Algiers but I remember only what I didn't see: women." and "Once, I found a deserted drive-in movie theatre...thousands of birds were nesting in its screen..."

Yes I know it doesn't sound like a spell binding, gotta-find-out-what-happens-next page turner. It frankly sounds downright boring...but it is so so beautiful!
