Started with dropping my parents off at the airport for their Hawaii trip. Then at 8am we went to breakfast with K&C at Rubys. Following that. We went to the University district for general shopping and halloween costume. About 2pm we finished up there, and headed downtown for another costume store. After that, McCormick and Schmidt for lunch on the water. Next stop Slave to the Needle for setting tattoo appts. Keefe got 2 additional ear piercings, and after some encouragement his eyebrow pierced.

That's the quick summary of a marathon sunday.

Tonight I went to a "community dinner" with Sheldon Whitehouse. He is Rhode Island's hopeful for taking back control of Congress. I recently started volunteering to help with his campaign. He talked about Medicare reform, Iraq, Health Care & Energy Independence. It was great to hear a politician take the publics questions in such a personal setting.

I thought (correctly) that it would be a perfect day at that the festival, and apparently (from the traffic) everyone in the D.C. area agreed with me. A pack of shots of Swami Yomahmi (who will be on National Geographic's "Is It Real?" tomorrow night), one of Larksong, the Pyrates Royale (thanks to my timing Darcy has Craigguitar face), and a gypsy stealing a child (okay, not really).

Driving around south Texas, San Antonio, and Austin today. Sprite, Cheetos Puffs, and generic sour gummi worms to fuel our bodies. I was pleasantly surprised that the gummi worms were actually better than the name brand version. These are a little sweeter and the worms have a larger girth. Quite tasty.

Friday was my last day at Bsquare and we had a little going away happy hour, well also 2 going away lunches but not official ones. The happy hour was lots of fun as my coworkers sent me off to bigger and beter things. Ill probably be in touch with several of them at least via email. Happy hour ended up being 5:30 to 11:30 and was lots of fun gabbing with my now ex-staff primarily. In the pics are Susan, Koobuki, Eva, Dennis and Yamanaka.

Then saturday we just hung out at home until 5pm when my parents showed up. We ate chinese and went to the casino. I broke even, mom and Kim out 20 bux each. Now its bedtime as we have a 5:30 start tomorrow.

Finally found all of the normal costume bits, plus the Half Moon cloak, which was perfect for the drizzle today. Got to see Jenn for the first time this season and Lauren, who was working in Pat Parker's booth while he ran the Scottish Games. Caught Judy on stage at the Globe, and later in the lane, exhorting some young lads to become knights of the realm. Closed the day out with Michael Rosman's wire walking (love the new squirrel jokes) and ran into Steph, Steve and Danielle in time to veer them over to Fight School II (more fun in the rain). I love this place. And now I get to go home and watch football. Does it get better than that?
