| 60 Minutes taping Wed 12.06.06 4:50pm PST #20011 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The tv show 60 Minutes was taping at my company the last 3 days, today being the big interview day. I was not on camera but got to listen in on the hard hitting interview done with our ceo. The piece will be about the real estate industry and how agents are overpaid for the work they do, and how companies like mine are fighting that by offering substantionally lower commissions. Should air in jan/feb. |

![]() ![]() ![]() JUST IN The body of missing CNET editor James Kim has been located, authorities announced Wednesday. This after his wife and two daughters were found in the initial search. They had been stranded in their car in remote Oregon for nine days after a snowstorm. This is the 11th day that James was missing. From a site set up by their friends: A statement for the media - "The friends and community of the Kim family are deeply saddened by the news received today about James Kim. We want to send out our utmost thanks to the Search and Rescue teams who risked their lives in the efforts to bring James back to us, they are true heroes to risk their own lives for a stranger. As friends we know that we did everything we could to help in the search for the Kim family, which is our only comfort now. We thank the Oregon authorities, the media, and everyone who sent us their thoughts and prayers for their support through this very difficult time. Please continue to keep Kati, Penelope, Sabine and the rest of their family in your thoughts." - Scott Nelson Windels, friend of James and Kati Kim and family This story affected me because the daughters are half asian--I could see a little of my daughter's face in the photos. And I could see my family being in the same situation if we were driving around on snowy backroads. - mike lee - washington, dc |

| Lookit What I Found!!! Wed 12.06.06 9:11am PST #20006 |
Especially for Alan and my former team, a shot of today's lunch spot. Somehow I'm thinking they probably don't run the same Wing Stop television commercials up here in the D.C. area, so let me proselytize a bit for those of you up here. Wing Stop is found on Richmond Highway near Fort Belvoir (in the strip mall with Tubby's Chili Parlor), and serves the *best* wings (garlic parmesan being my personal downfall). |

![]() ![]() ![]() My efforts to turn Danger's lack of spam filtering into a widely talked-about issue amongst the hiptop community has spawned, amongst other things, numerous postcards to my house. A couple of them I still have on the fridge. It keeps getting better and better: this card is signed, "Love, Danger Inc." |

| My Neighbor's Holiday Lights Mon 12.04.06 4:56pm PST #20002 |
![]() ![]() ![]() Not long ago I saw my neighbor Troy and a roommate of his setting up holiday decorations. I yelled across the street, "you guys aren't fucking around this year, are ya?" I had no idea what I was in for. The next few days the lights were in a horribly annoying pattern facing my bedroom window. I never understood why people would put lights in such rapidly flashing patterns. This weekend a car was parked outside my house, blocking traffic and I pulled up to them and asked how they were as it seemed suspicious. They were clearly stoned and they told me to tune to 97.9 FM. LOL so the neighbors have it all set to music! A few days later they put a sign in the yard with the station and now we are getting a ton of traffic. They add new songs now and then. Visit it at 32nd St E and 41st Ave S in Minneapolis or if you can't make it out, this YouTube Video can give you a rough idea. |
