I'm not really sure what my purpose is for going to school anymore. My grades are pretty much secured at atleast Cs in all classes (all I need for CSULB), and I'm spending more time finding ways to occupy myself than actual work. But hey, I'm not complaining!

Everyday we spend atleast 2 hours playing tetris against eachother (We're trying for a five player match next Psychology class, so many people has DSs!)

I guess my APs are coming up...but...I'd rather play Elite Beat Agents >: )

So this morning I am diddle bopping through the "dirt" Quick Trip and what do I spot dangling on the chip rack like that animal thing on the planet Endor that Chewbacca grabbed, ensanaring the whole wacky Star Wars gang (droids included), but this black beauty- Doritos X-13D. Pure marketing GENIUS.

At first sniff, it reminded me of something familiar, not chip like, but definitely something I have smelled before. At this point sirens should be going off, and a giant Robby The Robot should be busting out of the closet shouting WARNING! DANGER! Instead, I reach for a chip and take another smell.... hmmmm cocktail sauce maybe? NO! Maybe mustard.... with the mystery maize snack in hand, I quickly pop one into my mouth, a taste sensation pours over my unsuspecting, and now angered taste buds. WTF??

Do you remember as a kid mixing up concoctions that seemed like a good idea, but wound up not so much a good idea? Well it seems the fine folks over at the Doritos factory are all out of ideas and are now resorting to mixing things that...well really shouldn't be, at least in the chip field. Having eaten fours chips, I have decided that they were going for mustard Cheeseburger. Not something you would expect or want in a new chip flavor.

If I recall correctly, Doritos is owned by the Pepsi Corporation or in some way in league with them, and as Pepsi has demonstrated before, they can pull that loose change from your pocket with little or no effort at all.... Well mine at least. So once again, pure marketing genius.

I really need to get me a Robby the Robot.... -Matt

Yesterday I moved from my single cubicle in a corner into a new double cubicle with a view. Plus all the cubicles around me are empty. I didn't really want to move but it's nice now that I'm here.

This morning I found out it might not last. Our marketing department may be moving over here to help cut costs. I may move again next week...

Today was our company's annual Day of Service where employees are required to volunteer at one of a variety of community service organizations local to their office. In a different twist from prior years, a call went out for eight volunteer photographers. I was selected. Each of us had to visit three or four of the locations to shoot photos. I visited all three of my assigned destinations today (all close to my house!) and also had a nice lunch break chat with the director of our global network. I made it home early because the last location I visited ended their activity earlier than scheduled. So now I have the day's take downloaded and edited.

Yesterday's Human 2.0 conference at MIT was simply outstanding. The host, journalist John Hockenberry, carried the day with a commanding, and at appropriate times, humorous stage presence. With co-organizer MIT Professor Hugh Herr, a series of remarkable people demonstrated how they are developing or using technology to enable greater adaptibility to physical challenges. Though it was many hours of programming, I highly recommend sampling some of the RealVideo archived at the conference site.
