| Life sucks. Sun 06.10.07 10:54am PDT #21211 |
So...my birthday is in 1 month and 2 days exactly...yet I'm still being treated like I'm some sort of predator by my step mother. I'm almost 20 and she still hasn't let the fact that I'm gay wash away from her hands. Damn man. Life doesn't seem to be letting up one bit. Texas sucks. I want to go back to L.A. |
| A little booyah from the airport. Sun 06.10.07 10:23am PDT #21210 |
Unfortunately, I'm leaving before the game, but fortunately, I'm leaving early enough that even if my plane ends up delayed, I should be home from BWI before the game starts. And yes, I saw the article in The Onion, and I'm don't get why good basketball with a minimum of personal drama is uninteresting. If you're there for the sport, it shouldn't matter. If you're there for the drama, watch a soap opera. |

| dinner at some Peruvian place in Minneapolis, MN Sat 06.09.07 9:24pm PDT #21205 |
![]() ![]() ![]() Went to a Peruvian place. I didn't manage to get any decent pics though cause the place was so dark. Chicken rice soup was the best I ever tasted. Stir fry was ok. I just wanted more soup honestly. The service was the pits. When we first came in we were seated directly in front of the live guitar player, who sounded good, but had a speaker to aid him, so it was really loud. Before we even sat down we realised it would be a problem, cause we all talk a lot. We asked our waiter for a quieter table, and he said they were all reserved. There was maybe 30 tables in the place, about 5 of which were full. This place was like, dead, ok. My father insisted though, politely, and said he'd really prefer it if he could find us a quieter table. The guy said, ok, back here, and brought us to the darkest corner of the restaurant. The service for the rest of the nite blew ass, and I'm guessing our little "special request" was why. They never had more than 10 tables full at any point, yet we had to flag down a bus boy to get us more water, sauce, etc.(We're sure he was because at one point he said "I'm sorry, I don't know, I'm just a busboy.") In fact, he gave up at being a bus boy and just started coming by and asking us if we needed anything. Our waitress came by a total of maybe 4 times. Oh yea. At some point during the change to a quieter table we switched from the first dude to some lady. I thought maybe he was just the host, but I saw him serving tables, so I guess we moved out of his area, or he just didn't like us. Anyway, the bus boy was great. We never got his name but referred to him as Fernando because my sister had been singing that Fernando song all day and it was in our heads. Our waitress was referred to as Glinda. At the end of the meal I said "how do you tip a busboy without being obvious?" and my aunt went "I was just wondering the same thing!" We discussed techniques on palming it and sliding it to him, but finally I just pulled out a 5, handed it to my sister and said, "you're the braver one, just hand it to him and say 'this is for you.'" Which she did. We tipped the waitress 10 on a 90$ bill, which to my father was like a slap in the face, cause he never tips below 20%. My sister wanted to tip her a penny. Honestly, I might have done the same thing, she was that bad. I thought she deserved less than Fernando, but my father is too polite to be like that. So I don't recall the name, sorry. It was tasty though. We started discussing gay neighbourhoods in Minneapolis and my brother called a friend who moved here last year to ask him about them, and ended up going off to a bar with him. Now I'm going to bed. Tomorrow we're getting up ass crack early and heading home. I miss my cat, so that's cool. ------------------------ Bird (Graci) -tinyurl.com/ytchdw "It's easy to regret your awkward conversations but hard to regret the ones you didn't have." |
