Seems like Regan and I are playing "Pass the Hiptop Nation Friend" today. I picked Aaron up from Wheaton Metro today where he experienced the longest escalator ride in the western hemisphere.

After hanging out for a little while at my house under the heavy rain, we drove over to see the Jim Henson Works exhibit at the University of Maryland College Park in the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. The exhibit, situated in a small dark room at the entrance to the library, was underwheming but informative. Aaron explored the rest of the library and found a nice display of Moog Synthesizers. Amy stayed with Cici in the car as child was taking a much needed nap.

It was still pouring rain as we all headed to the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant by College Park Airport for an early dinner. More great conversation, sharing a beer with me back at the house and back to Wheaton Metro was how Aaron and I eased down the day.

My Nintendo Wii's CD slot has been flashing blue for a couple days, but I just got the time tonight to download the update for the Internet Channel. This final version is significantly better than the preview released in December. Read the press release on Opera's web site and an interview with Nintendo developers.

Cici Balboa ran too fast today at school, fell and bruised her upper lip today. Good thing Oreo cookies help relieve the pain. The last photo are of tonight's clear skies before this weekend's cruel weather.

Ahhhh... who needs depressing hard news and tough-to-read analysis. This morning, I picked up my first printed copy of The Onion at the entrance to Wheaton Metro. The free paper is began distribution in the D.C. area last week in partnership with The Washington Post. Today's headline: U.S. Counter-Counterterrorism Unit Successfully Destroys Washington Monument.

I fired up my newly acquired Presto Pizzazz Pizza Oven tonight. It was fun to watch the pies cook out in the open. The gadget worked exactly as advertised.

Well the fire alarm went off at daycare just as I was about to hand Cici off, so I got rushed out to the street with the infant group. I'm sitting in the park with babies and staff until I can get back to the car.

After the White House Egg Roll, Cici went back to daycare, which is conveniently three blocks away. She apparently went out again with the kids to play in the park and smashed her face into another classmate producing a bloody nose and red stained jacket. They asked one of us parents to go check in on her, but as you can see, she was back to her social routine having lunch. She seems to be feeling no pain--quite the trooper, or maybe champion? We hope this isn't a new play tactic or the beginning of a kiddy Fight Club. Now I'm back to my day of meetings.
