Here we are late in the afternoon, before the sun gets a chance to set and the flies get a chance to bite ... trout fishing. We caught nine trout. I didn't catch any because I think live fish are slimy and I was barely able to hold the net because I was being prissy because I didn't like the water from the pond splashing on me. The girls and Dad had a good time. The last time we were at this specific spot was when JigNeNe was about 2 years old. Of course, she didn't remember being there before. But the rest of us remembered being there and when the truck had arrived to restock the pond.

We have enough fish to take back with us when we go home later this week. SaxyHC relieved me of putting the fish out of its misery per the local fishing rules. I think the largest fish was about 17".

Just reading over my blog from yesterday. I must have really been tired. I meant to say I drove 525 MILES, not NUKES. The last thing we need is to have the governent misinterpret that flub since HN is more likely to be read by those types with the recent media attention its been getting.

Don't know what happened to the other pics...but here's my second try.

An employee brought her two guide Golden Labrador dogs, Ruthie and Tori. Ruthie was in service for about 10 years and retired last year. Tori is a young dog and is learning the ropes from Ruthie. The employee is a software programmer and she gave the kids a demo of her workstation area which consisted of voice recognition and Braille keyboard. The visually impaired employee was more personable than the other presenters on the other rours we went on. She was very open to questions and let the kids pet the dogs, which from the pics you can tell the dogs loved it :)

I got tangled in a safety/traffic stop three blocks away from home tonight. The local Explorers were out with the local police pulling over everyone. They usually only ask for driver's license. This time they asked for driver's license, registration and proof of insurance. I came up with my driver's license and vehicle registration, but couldn't find my insurance card. I was taking so long looking for it, that the explorer was ready to write me a ticket for "NO INSURANCE". I made a last ditch effort, pulled out the Sidekick, went to www.i21.com (21st Century) and located my policy coverage inforamtion. It was a longshot but the police accepted this "virtual" proof of insurance.

Thank you Danger/T-Mobile and thank goodness I had a full "G". It was too dark outside to take pictures of the the activity.

DramaKween is semi-reluctantly accompanying me to work tomorrow for this event. JigNeNe is a year shy of being able to participcate and will get more out of this event (next year) than DramaKween has.

The goal is to provide employees' children a day of fun experiences, opportunities, and lasting impressions to help them explore the world of work as future workers, and explore my company as future consumers.
