Went to get a copy of my birth certificate down in Manhattan and passed by Ground Zero. Just looking at the site again brings back some powerful emotions... Being a former stockbroker, I had many close ties to the area as well as friends lost in the tragedy. The area is still walled off from the public, but it's nice to see that the street hustlers are still making brisk business with the tourists. They sell photos, historical background pamphlets, and keychains... This one skell wanted to charge me a dollar to take his photo. After telling him where to shove that dollar, I walked away. It's sickening, these vultures... But people gotta eat too, I guess...
