I've been passing this sculpture every workday for 7 months. It is found in the Kitano hotel on 37th and Park, and I call it "the Rat." I consider myself guaranteed of having a great night if I pass it on my way home. It's become my little good luck charm. Realizing that I had never gone in the hotel to see the Rat up close, I finally walked in and snapped a couple of pics. To my utter embarrassment, it's actually a bronze statue called "Dog," made by one of my fave artists: Fernando Botero himself! I knew there was a reason I always felt drawn to it...
