I think the main reason why NY Hiptoppers aren't reporting on the protests from the convention is that it has become a police state. I work around 23rd street and must pass by The Garden to get to work every day. In my experience, anything remotely looking like a) a gun, b) a remote detonating device, or c) research for a potential bombing will get you siezed. I was able to get off this one lonely photo before 4 cops swarmed on me and nearly confiscated my Sidekick. It's very real in NYC right now, folks...
