My friend Chadd told me yesterday that he was going to be lining some flower beds and making some retaining walls around their trees. It sounded like fun to me, so I volunteered to help him out for a few hours. That sounded good to him, so I went over to his place this morning. We got a lot done, and I got to see his new cat, Alfie. It was a lot of work, but the results are well worth it.

Wal-mart has opened the first of a sort of "fancy" version of its Super Center line of stores in Plano, TX. This store is about 2 miles from where we live, so I went and took some pictures so other people might be able to have a look.

The aisles are wider, large enough for almost 3 carts next to each other I'd say. The book section is almost like a mini Barnes & Noble, minus the comfy reading chairs. The home section is like a mini Bed, Bath & Beyond, with a lot of nice stuff in real displays instead of just stacks of boxes. There is no fabric section, and the electronics section is larger than I'm used to seeing in a wal-mart.

The wine/beer section is apparently quite extensive, which isn't hard to believe once you see the Black Star Dom Perignon for sale for $145. But that's not the most expensive bottle they have. I think I found it though, it's $557 La MonDotte, and they had two bottles just sitting out in a typical wooden wine display rack.

There is also a coffee cafe, and a nice deli section. Even though today was their first day open, I still saw an item with the red clearance/discontinued sticker. And then there's the bottle of wine in with the vacuum cleaners. I guess some things never change.

They have finished the first pass of drywalling, but there is still quite a bit of work left. I think it's hard to take good pictures of small areas, videos are much nicer to get a feel of the space. It'd be cool if the SK2 did video, maybe the SK3 will.

This years' Valentine's Day was interesting, it started off good with us exchanging some small presents, and then we went to the mall to ice skate. Unfortunately, I had an allergic reaction and broke out in hives. We had to go home, and I was out for a couple hours from the Benadryl. We ended the night making dinner together, which was very nice. Carolyn liked her flower and ring I got her, so I was happy. I hope everyone else's Valentine's day was nice too.

I made a couple pies to take to work for Valentine's Day, they turned out pretty well. The frosting-like topping was a change for me, I'll probably put the recipe for the topping up on my textamerica blog, the Chocolate Cream pie recipe is already there in the Recipes category.

Went to see tCoN:tLtWatW Friday night in DLP. They did something that I hadn't seen before. They ran some video ads instead of those slideshow ads you usually see. It was really annoying, becuase the volume on the faded in and faded out, and they were only about 10 seconds long, and the volume got as loud as the movie. It made it hard to talk, since you had to adjust your voice constantly, or else you'd be yelling when the ad faded out.

The movie was pretty good, maybe 7 or 8 out of 10. The whole movie theater was empty when we left, I guess that happens around midnight-thirty.

People at work decorated Pumpkins for a contest today. The silver mutant beast one is pretty cool.

A round orange man came to me and said, "I can't see, or talk!" Ok, I guess he didn't _say_ that to me, he had a note that said that on it. I'm no doctor, but I like cutting up things, so I agreed to take the job. After removing part of his skull, I realized that this man didn't have many residents in Brainsville, if you get my drift. My assistant and I decided we should clean this guy out, in as many ways as possible. He died on the table, but I put a big grin on his face so no one would suspect foul play. I think we'll put him outside so other people can see just how good our services are.

Carolyn's company had an event there Thursday night, it was very nice. Good food, nice atmosphere, and all for free.
