| 30th Anniversary of Ethernet Fri 05.23.03 8:43am PDT #4649 |
![]() ![]() I went to a 30th Anniversary party for Ethernet at PARC. Here are some pictures of artifacts on dispkay: an original 3MB ethernet transceiver and an early 10MBit Ethernet transceiver, both attached to coax with Jerrold taps. There were two events: an internal PARC/Xerox event and a separate press/invited guest event. The internal event had more nerd appeal, with old stories about 1K Ohm isolation resistors and packet type vs. Length backwards compatibility arguments in international standards committees.. |
