So this was the worst accident I've been in. You can't see much from the pics unfortunately...

NYC west side highway around 96th st. We go to turn off, followed by some other guy. Having second thoughts, we turn a bit to continue on the highway, and out of nowhere (probably behind the guy that WAS turning off) an Accord with halogens flies towards us.

Now I've never experienced slow-time (when there's an impending crises and your brain floods with...some enzyme... that makes it seem like time has slowed to give you mroe time to react). It was weeeeeeird. My buddy who was driving turns around, says like "shit shit hold on", and as the car fills with the bright headlights of the Accord, I actually feel myself thinking what to do, and I used the 'few seconds' that my brain was affording me to brace for impact.

Then KABOOOOM! Nothing but crunching and squealing. The Accord goes RIGHT into the rear end, but on the right-side which is the side I'm sitting on! Feels like I took the brunt of the impact. Owwwie.

End result: my bud's VW jetta - entire right side of the frame is twisted to the point that the trunk and rear right door are mated shut, and the passenger side door won't close properly. Entire rear end is essentially GONE. And the back I pulled last week, well, it's hurtin a bit.

Very scary, especially in a situation where you KNOW it's going to happen and you get a chance to 'prepare'. Man, I almost flew out the door to go introduce the other driver to my fist, luckily my passenger door was not opening at the moment...

*sigh* And it's my burfday sunday! =(
