| Worst bank ever.. The saga continues Sat 04.09.05 1:17pm PDT #13080 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So after the last dealings with BankOne, I've closed one of my accounts in the plan to close the other as soon as I get another bank account set up. In the same conversation I went ahead and requested a new card because the magnetic strip on mine was bad. I asked directly "will I be able to keep using this card while I wait for the new card?" The answer was yes. So I go ahead and put in the request. Then last night I try to order something online, get rejected, try again a bit later, still rejected. Company says my bank is refusing it, maybe because it's an offshore processor, who knows. Payments have gone through this processor with no trouble in the past. So I call bank one, lady on the phone says the card has been cancelled because a new one is on the way, I will not be able to use the card until I get the new one and reactivate. But I can run to a branch office before they close in 10 minutes and get a temporary ATM card to get me through the weekend. Run down to bank one where customer service is already busy. Explain the predicament to the girl behind the counter, she checks some things, says the card should be fine, shouldn't be any trouble, and no, she can't tell why the transaction was rejected cause she doesn't have access to that information for some reason. So I try the card in the ATM, get out enough cash to make it through the weekend. Then back at home I call Bank One on the phone, and they say the card is in fact cancelled because of the order of the new one. She can reactivate it for me (don't know why she can but the first woman couldn't *shrug*) She reactivates it, I try to process the payment through said offshore processor and guess what, transaction failed, "Your account has been flagged for too many failed transactions and you will not be able to make any more transactions until it is unflagged" Great, now there's nothing I can do until the net business day, i.e. Monday, and the necessary services I was trying to purchase for the weekend are no longer possible. Bleah. After the next paycheck it's time to close this stinking account. |
