Went down to CompUSA after some more laptop research and got me a Toshiba Satellite. It was the manager's special, so I scored big savings on a display model that was in perfect shape. As soon as I booted it up at home I felt much better about this one. We'll see how it does after updating windows and then getting gentoo going. Wonder how it will run half-life2..
