![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I absolutely love the work of Ray Harryhausen, the pioneer special effects stop-motion animator. He created all his own models and hand-animated them all by himself. Anyway, I found a website that is now selling little models of all his famous creatures...small and strange and wonderful! I think I'll eventually get them all! Pictured is the "moon calf" creature from the movie "First Men in the Moon" by H.G. Wells. In the movie, it was as big as an elephant and was raised by the moon aliens for food (like giant cows). Terrified me when I saw it as a kid. Now as small as a mouse and sitting in the palm of my hand, it is far less scary but still as cool looking as when I saw it lumbering across the movie screen. Izzy (pictured) approves, and has already tried to eat it. :P |
