We recently had a warm spell which melted a lot of the snow, including the stuff that was on the pool cover. It was getting a bit heavy so I tossed the "Little Giant" water pump on to it so it would remove some of the excess water.

It probably would have been a good idea to remove it last night since we're now in a winter storm and the pump got frozen in ice. After pulling it out I noticed the filter/intake piece was broken and a trip to the pool store was in order.
