| The houston 1836 finally sees the light Wed 02.15.06 7:11am PST #17199 |
  Well, they finally realized their name sucked, so after a whole month, they are going to change it. Here's the funny part. The target audience for these games is the hispanic community. Apparently they forgot what happened in 1836, besides the founding of Houston: 1. Texas won its independence from Mexico 2. The battle of the Alamo 3. The crushing defeat of Santa Anna at the hands of Sam Houston at the battle of San Jacinto Apparently, they're still sore at us about all that. Rumor has it that the new name will be the "Lonestar" or "lone star" which is a HELL of a lot better than 1836, mainly because it reminds me of beer. Heck I might even go see them now. Sleebus |
