![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() :) hey yall. Look at me! I'm in snow! YAY! There are a few of my friends skiing in those pictures. Today was quite an adventure for our group. First, a few friends and I were taking our first run down a slope for the morning...and it was still pretty icy since not too many people had been out on it yet. Well I started going REALLY fast. And I couldn't stop. So I decided to just try and fall to stop, like I did yesterday....well that wasn't the best plan. Because I went flying....flipped maybe 3 times or more, and I just layed there. Couldn't move and all my gear was about 20 ft above me. Anyways, my friends got a medic and the medic strapped me into this thing and strapped my skies on top of my right arm and skiied me down the mountain where a truck was supposed to meet us to take me to the medic center. Well, they picked me up to take me to the truck...which was about 50ft away... Well halfway there... They dropped me....OW. I landed on my right side and my skies slammed into my arm. I was super scared cause I was strapped down so there was no chance of catching myself. Anyways...they decided to use their logic and drag me the rest of the way to the truck. And then put me in there. So my buddies amy and dave rode with me there and they checked me out and gave me some oxygen and stuff. I'm fine, just got the wind knocked outta me pretty badly. Shortly after arriving I got released and chilled with my youth director for a bit.... We got to our lunch check in location and another guy from our group, jason, was in there with 2 medics.. He was skiing down a mountain and blacked out and woke up on the ground. He's fine...but he's feeling a little sick. ... about 30 minutes later, two guys run up and say another guy from our group slammed into a snow bank with his arms in a funny position. Turns out he twisted his rotator cuff pretty badly. Currently... 4.5 hours after we found out... he's at a local hospital getting it splinted. It took them a while for the doctors to figure out if he needed surgery or not. And we just found out that the doctors don't think it's broken. And he's on his way back now. Anyways, so far it's been a long day. And we're all just relaxing now. -sAmI- |
