Contest at our church...using left over pumpkins from the patch...there was a large potato gun type thing....like 12 feet long...called the mutha chunka. It was launched with compressed air and went extremely far and won. And there was a big trebuchet. ... Didn't see it get launched but I heard it sucked. :)
