| 25 Ounce Ribeye Steak Fri 06.01.07 7:31pm PDT #21120 |
![]() ![]() ![]() Sometimes you just gotta have steak. This once was a steak of a disbanded cook team The Firemasters where steaks were wrongfully prepped by way of tenderizing hammers and way....WAAAAAY to much salt, and then way over cooked. Medium steak, well done, rare steak, medium well done... and it just goes on. I never really understood the whole philosophy of this type of steak injustice as when the head "cook" was gone, I always prepped and cooked the steak my way, with tender love and care. So today it seems fitting that we divide the roast steaks into two. I have cooked one of these bad boys whole to perfection, but top get it there, it needs to be kissed by the grill, and then finished in the oven. -Matt |

| Here Comes The Rain Again... Fri 06.01.07 3:42pm PDT #21118 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Oh what a shock... it's raining....again..... In the kitchen with the Parrot Head cook team with a special of island grilled shrimp. Should be pretty damn tasty... if only I wasn't allergic to shellfish. But hey, even with the rain it's still Friday Nation... just not Spain Friday where I hear EVERY day is Friday... anyhow, It's Friday Nation... make it a good one. -Matt |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In Guiness book of world records as the oldest resturant in the world, (opened in the 1700's) took a picture of the certificate in the window. Famous for cochnillo asado, which is roast suckling pig. 21 days from birth to the oven. :) very tasty! You can see the oven and the SHELVES of roast piggies. Stopped in at meson de cerveza for eduardo, who was craving some calamari. We're enjoying brandy and coke and planning our next stop. Sleebus |

![]() ![]() ![]() I didn't sleep a wink yesterday, finishing papers for Gov and Psych, but that's really my fault. The portait is framed, and my mom really loves it! I think it marches very well with the whole living room, and definitely classes the place up a bit. There my memo board, so long John Glenn High, hello Long Beach Uni! | Fruitful Day Thu 05.31.07 10:27pm PDT #21114 |
We arrived back at the airport after a very productive day of locking in several high technology performances and presentations by the Media Lab for our national conference this September. This brought us back to where we left off after a similar meeting 14 months ago after which management above me imploded and left our sponsorship of the lab to lapse. My event planning colleagues were completely enchanted by the possibilities for showcasing the latest advances in digital music performance, robotics, human augmentation and more. And to my surprise, Nicholas Negroponte, the founder of the Media Lab and driving force behind the One Laptop per Child project, walked off the US Air Shuttle from DC. He said he's back in Boston for just a few days before flying out again. He told Lesley Stahl on 60 Minutes a couple weeks ago that he travels over 330 days a year. Changing the world is hard work! There are a few photos from today on Flickr. - mike lee |
