![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Going to pick up my car in Connecticut this weekend. I'm on the plane right now listening to Biggie and practicing the Rubik's cube. I was going to watch The Royal Tennenbaums, but I forgot to install PowerDVD on my laptop. When I was in the Austin TX airport I used my danger to catch up on emails and web sites, pay a bill online, IM to make sure my friend is going to pick me up, and I also used it as a cell phone because my main phone ran out of batteries. Be prepared for many updates... Ty (road trip king) |

| The Dog Park Fri 10.18.02 2:18pm PDT #625 |
Every afternoon, my wife and I take our dog to the dog park. The dog park isn't officially a dog park -- it's a medium-sized park in the west-end of Richmond, VA -- but dog owners have turned it into a park for dogs. Nobody obeys the leash law, and the dogs love socializing with their peers. Here is a picture of Turtle, our neighbor's dog. Turtle is a Plothound / Chesapeak Bay Retriever mix. He's a great dog and gets along with our Lab puppy Max very well. I'll post pictures of max later. -- Jason Sewell -- bedope.com.blog.post@jsewell.com -- H:(804)281-7855 -- M:(804)502-8310 |
| Demoing the Sidekick at school Fri 10.18.02 2:11pm PDT #624 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm on campus taking care of some paperwork, and just demoed the Sidekick to Rich Lipscher, who teaches 3D modeling and animation. The two-shot is a self-portrait and that's Rich on the left. Rich was telling me that their 3D print service is in full swing. Students and faculty can create wireframe models in Solidworks, and with the press of a button, the machine creates a real object. It takes about 3 hours for the machine to build up something the size of a baseball. The other frames are some not-so-great shots of some of the output. And that's Angelo who works at the computer lab support desk. - mike lee - baltimore - curiouslee.com |
| BAG @ WORK ON A FRIDAY (sigh) Fri 10.18.02 1:57pm PDT #623 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Consensus from the bloggers is that everyone is not being very productive....I am also in that league of sitting on my behind goofing off with my SK. I took random pics of the familiar things on my desk as you can see. Hmmm only 2.5 hours to go....sigh...2bad it's not payday, but then again the boss is gone. We gave him a belated BOSSES' DAY card and had some cheesecake. For some reason he knew that yours truly made the card (smile). &:} BustAGroove wuz here &:) via HipTop // AIM: BustAGrooove &:} BustAGroove wuz here &:) via HipTop // AIM: BustAGrooove |
| Meeting the "Yoda" of usability Fri 10.18.02 1:48pm PDT #622 |
Dr. Jonathan Lazar of Towson University came by our office for a visit today. Dianne and I had a great chat with him about his research interests in user frustration, human-computer interaction and usability. His students have dubbed him "the Yoda of usability" because most teachers or consultants have some name like "Father of..." or "Guru." Regardless of the appropriateness of the nickname, Jon is one of the most energetic and passionate practitioners and teachers of usability anywhere. We're really looking forward to working with him some more soon. And how timely it was to talk about frustrations with technology as my main blog site is still down. Hopefully all will be well by the morning. - mike lee - baltimore - curiouslee.com |
