This is one of my kitties, Hobbes. He's is pretty pissed at me because I won't let him go outside on the deck and chase the birds that congregate around the bird feeder. (shown in the last photo) As you can see, he and my 2 other cats sit by the back door that leads to the deck and WHINE until I let them out.


I'm sure I can expect a fresh pile of cat vomit in the middle of my bed later on for this violation of kitty law.

These photos in no way capture the determination in the runner's faces and the joyus smiles of the cheering neighbors. The 5,000 runners are doing the 26.2 mile marathon route, which runs right by our house where a refreshment station marks the 22-mile point. The crowd is cheering "way to go! You guys rock!" When one spectator shouted "only four miles to go, it's all down hill from here" and to that a runner said, " yeah right, I've heard that before..."

IEvery once ina while when he is out of town, I take up the slack for him, running the events at the high school fine arts facility.

This morning, I was here at seven (the sun was not even attempting to be up yet) to unlock the building and help run the practice SAT test.

TEN POINTS for the hiptop! I have never been able to stay awake during these things, and now I am writing all of the personal e-mails I neglected to this week.
