It's fitting that Alaska Airlines is the farthest away from the entrances at Reagan Airport. Too bad I'm just going to Seattle.

My contact at Microsoft tells me I get a visit to the company store on Friday. Can you say Xbox games for $5?

...back to D.C. It's 80+ degrees out and the magnolias are blooming by the airport.

Photos: lunch, the event t-shirt, John reviews the agenda, Stanford Professor Bill Cockayne speaking on "Futuretelling Skills," Amanda Parkes at one of the student workshop tables talking about affect in product design, "Topobo" toy parts with a cell phone cozy, Bill and me, Chris C. introducing some hilarious computer history videos and my product concept made at Amanda's table: a camera in the form of a wand that uses compressive imaging technology to take a photo when you wave it across a scene.

I'm beat...

It's a sunny and bearbly chilly Monday morning here at the Sea Crest. Professor John's assistant Amna sweetly gifted us with waterfront rooms last night. After a short walk on the sand, I got on wifi to savor my "good morning daddy" photo.

Dinner last night was back at the Roo Bar on Main Street of Falmouth. Becky talked about impressions from her recent first trip to the TED conference. Saeko of Cleanup and John talked about the possible link between the act of cooking and brain health. Maybe there should be a show on Food Network called "Cooking for Cortex!"

Conference registration and lunch are next up and I have to pull a few slides to do a 7-minute talk this afternoon.

We got a nice view of D.C. on takeoff. Arrival at TF Green Airport in Providence and the ride in the rental car was mellow. The Cape Cod Swim Club is having a big awards dinner here at the Sea Crest Conference Center, but the place should empty out again late tonight. There's a dinner at 7 for the early arrivers.

I'm on a tiny pencil of a plane which required us to board a bus to the tarmac for the first time in all my flights out of Regan. Note that my child was very excited about my leaving. Co-workers Brenda and Denise are along with me on this trip to Professor Maeda's annual MIT Media Lab sponsor event in Falmouth, MA.

Sand Fantasy
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any wayI made a rare trip to the local post office to pick up a registered package which turned out to be a DVD video I ordered from Sand Fantasy. On the disc is 40 minutes of live performance by sand animation artist Ilana Yahov. She uses only her fingers to draw in sand on a lighted glass table. I highly recommend visiting the web site to view the video clips.

I was offsite today at the Hotel George again for 7 hours of a session on education and lifelong learning strategy. Then back to the office to preside over a kickoff meeting on our 50th anniversary web site with a vendor. The day ended with a call from Microsoft confirming me as a last-minute speaker at their internal summit on Aging next Thursday and Friday. Day full.
