Of note to Danger-watchers everywhere: according to this article in the San Francisco Business Times Danger now has "set up offices" in Asia for their dealmaker.

In USA Today, the editor of the Tribune Co.'s a.m. New York is quoted:

''Young people view news as a free commodity,'' says Alex Storozynski, editor of the Tribune Co.'s 1-month-old a.m. New York. ''But you can't get the Internet on a subway -- and that's where we come in.''

Several folks have been asking about the winners of the Halloween Scavenger Hunt. I just wanted to let everyone know that it has taken me a bit of time to set up a helpful guide to the entries for the judges, but they now all have it and some have judged and the others are judging and I thank them for working this task into their busy lives.

Speaking of Halloween, I just noticed David Williams ran something called Hiptop Halloween Haiku over on his livejournal. He took photos from hiptop Nation and constructed an "occasional storyline" of haiku over the month of October. Check it out (you'll have to go back to the October entries of the journal).

In other hiptop news, I'm happy to note that hiptop Nation now has some posts from users of the e-plus hiptop in Germany. I love getting snapshots from such a wide variety of places and cultures. I am also happy that email from the eplus hiptop didn't break the backend code.

Finally, if you are excited about what's on the horizon for the world of camera phones, you must read Reiter's Camera Phone Report. Lots of good content served up hot and often.

Just wanted to alert anyone thinking about buying a Color T-Mobile Sidekick that they are now just $50 at Amazon.com (after rebate and with activation, naturally).

So, go get one already! :) They also make excellent holiday gifts. Especially if you are shopping for yourself.

Well, I unfortunately lost all hiptop connectivity yesterday afternoon, and this is my first chance to get to a computer. I'm starting to look at the team blogs, and it looks like there are some fantastic and creative entries.

I know the format was not what everyone was expecting this year, but I'm glad everyone gave it a try. I like to change things up, so no doubt you can expect something different for next year's hunt :)

Thanks to all the scavengers for taking time out their day to play the game. The other judges and I will look things over this next week. In the meantime, I encourage everyone to check out the entries at all the team blogs - see links at the bottom of this page.

Less than two hours away from the start of the hunt! At just after midnight, I will make a post here that will link to the instructions, rules, etc. Can't wait.

There has been a lot of reshuffling to deal with people dropping out or checking in at the last minute - I'll work on a system to deal with this more efficiently for next time. Thanks for surfing the chaos this time.

Some last minute tips: Communication is obviously key. I hope everyone has established good communication with their teammates. Also, assume nothing. As I stated in the email, this will not be an exact copy of last year's hunt :)
