Above: the now frozen Mousam River outside my window

The temperature with wind chill right now is a frigid 37 degrees below zero F. But don't worry, without the wind, it is a balmy 8 degrees below zero :)

I might get the chance to take a picture of 45 - 50 below zero windchill conditions over the next couple of days. Stay tuned!

Earlier today we were waiting for our table at The Cheesecake Factory. These shots were from the lobby it shares with the new Fortunoff upstairs. While waiting we took a trip upstairs and toured the jewelry and china sections - my dad designed and built all the display cases. Great work, Dad!

A beautifully sunny day to drop by the gardens and check out their holiday train setup, complete with models of famous buildings. The models are made completely out of plants etc. Pictured above: the model of the very building I was standing in when I took the picture. Trés recursive!

The car is packed, the coffee is brewed .... And the kid is sick. Plan B: sit on the couch and watch some videos.

Perhaps tomorrow. We were originally going to go Saturday, but I was sick. Thus a longish visit to NY with lots of extra time turns into a somewhat less leisurely visit. Assuming we get there at all :)
