TSA was little testy with my not removing my POW / MIA bracelets. Hey- I haven't taken them of for over 18 years, and they don't come off until they come home. You think they would be a little cooler about it like Tulsa and Pensacola were. Oh well.

They had the dedication of the Payne County Memorial today. There was a great crowd comprised of soldiers currently serving in addition to several Vets. They broke ground on the memorial last year, and I am very proud to say that it looks great. There is still a ways to go as they need to get the lighting and flags installed, but otherwise, I think that this memorial is fantastic. Each of the upright stone flames represent a branch of the service, with stone markers around the circumference which have bronze seals of each branch of the military.

So my slide door gets stuck, I pull with one arm and push with the other, and whadda ya know- the slide door slips free from it's bonds and *WHAM*!! The middle finger gets crushed and cut pretty dman bad.

With a call to Paulie, he and Staci show up and escort me to the ER. With a tetanus shot and some stitches through the finger nail to hold the skin and nail in place we be done. Sucks to be me today. -Matt

Dirty's Tavern

I am assuming that everyone has tamalè off- so Paulie and I decided to grab a couple of beers at Dirty's after work.
Tomorrow they are dedicating

the Payne County Veterans Memorial at 10 AM. The Elks donated $1500 for the cause and we should have a good group representing the organization. - did get a call from the people responsible needing the chairs, and the lady incharge stated she bought a bunch of "dots" to make sure we got our chairs back. I couldn't help but think of the Nextel/Sprint Commercial about "the Dots"....
