...and anyone else who is interested. You can order a replacement cam from a t-mobile store. Not sure how much it costs since lola's mom and dad ordered it for me though I imagine it's probably around $30 or so.

Yay! New SK camera arrived! Mom will be pleased to get more pics of me eating breakfast.

Syl, Jeff and I are on a bike ride in Marin. A little overcast but still so great to be outside! We saw deer along the trail today!

thanksgiving
So I'm off to my friend Margot's now for thanksgiving dinner. Not at home in LA like I feel I should be...but my dad doesn't really like thanksgiving (or christmas, or easter, or any other "officially sanctioned" holiday)...which means when I was a kid, I'd get something in June and my dad would say, "oh, that's your christmas present by the way." According to him, every day should be just as special as any other and I shouldn't just visit him when everyone else feels obliged to visit their families but on those days when no one else thinks to visit. So am off to my friend Margot's. I am absolutely ravenous because I ran 7 miles this morning! I haven't run that far in a really long time but felt I needed to do it in preparation for the feasting. Now I'm ready to eat a horse!

Moblogs & Other Bus Stop Ruminations
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any waySo here I am waiting at the bus stop and I'm wondering...when is Hollywood going to set up mobile / communal weblogs for some of their hot young things or aging rock stars? I mean given the huge overwhelming success of reality TV shows like The Osbornes I'm sure everyone's dying to see Hiptop shots of Britney blogging from her bathroom. If I were a danger mktg person, i'd hit up LA big time.

...another idea for mobile weblogs...communal weblogs for families! I think a lot of people with family members all over the country would really love it if they could easily keep in touch like this! But the family sites would have to be password protected.

And a totally random question for the day...what's the difference really between the reasons for getting plastic surgery and getting braces? (aside from the fact that they involve different body parts) why are we so disdainful of one but consider the other a teenage rite of passage?

Damn i'm bored...why won't the bus come already?

Well these are the last pics you'll see from me since Lola the pup I was taking care of last week snuck into my backpack tonight and completely chewed up my sidekick camera! She must really love/hate the sidekick since I had much tastier things in my bag (like candy)...and last week she stole the sidekick itself and started chewing on it! Luckily I caught her before it was completely destroyed...though it's not looking so pretty anymore. //many many sighs...

first taste of thai
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any wayI got into a cab tonight and my cab driver has what sounds like canto-pop on his stereo...he drives about a block and then without any provocation, begins SINGING out loud at the top of his lungs completely oblivious to me in the back.

"What's that you're singing?", I asked him after about a mile. "Thai music," he said. "Oh, are you Thai?" "No, I'm from Burma. The Thai and Burmese don't really like each other, did you know that? But I don't care, I like this song anyways..."

He then proceeded to tell me that in Thailand, you can be imprisoned for life if you are a Thai citizen caught with one ounce of marijuana...well, if you're a Thai citizen who doesn't know the right people...

He had a great voice.

Last night some friends and I drove out to Tennessee Valley in Marin for a midnight hike and then we stayed up to watch the sky. The moon was like a lantern so we only saw about a dozen shooting stars...but it was a really mild night and we were lying on a hillside snuggled in our sleeping bags with the sound of the pacific ocean behind us.

Now I am scrambling to meet a deadline and running on no sleep...I'm glad I can still get by on no sleep!

(btw, thanks for the wheels Michael!)

According to the site above, "a storm of shooting stars, along with possible bright fireballs is in store during a display that won't be repeated for at least 3 decades!" Here are some tips for getting the best view of the shower.
