My mom rolled me out of bed this morning saying "C'mon, we're going to see all the cool little shops in downtown Fredericksburg." Apparently my idea vs her idea of "cool little shops" is profounly different. We're now touring every little Christmas-themed shop and Civil War shop ever in existance. Wee. Kill me now.

Nobody was all that hungry for our mid-day turkey bonanza - with 4 people, we barely devoured half of it. I'm sick, too, which didn't help. Bah.

Last shot of Charlotte as we flew away.... And some shots for Reagan National airport. The vaulted ceilings are kinda neat.

It'd be too nice of them to offer in-flight meals anymore (what's the deal with the peanuts??), so I get to pay a minimum of a dollar for a snack at the machine. Taste the rainbow of delayed flights!

Got a 7:30 flight to DC by way of Charlotte. Lucky me, the whole flight from Tallahassee to Charlotte will be on a turboprop. *shudder* Weep for me. No plane yet.

Took Nicki geocaching today. We found the cache easily, but the neat part was the site - an old, abandoned tuberculosis hospital called Sunnyland. It's been closed and rotting away for over 20 years, but they can't bulldoze it because of the massive quantities of asbestos (a newspaper article said it'd cost over $20 million to safely destroy it). Apparently homeless people like it, as do stupid college kids eager for a cheap thrill by "ghosts". Regardless, neat, creepy site.

I needed to get out of the house, so I hopped on my bike and drove down Hwy 90. Ended up in the little town of Montecello, FL, which didn't have much more than a city hall and some antique shops. I wandered around for a few, then hopped back on my bike and rode home. Woo.

In an effort to cheer me up, Nicki took me to Lowes to smell Christmas trees. We're going to get a real one (our first!) after we return from Thanksgiving. They smelled really good.

Apparently our school's campus entertainment group spent $5k or sommat to put on a carniva tonight. They rented bouncy castles and a bouncy slide and a swing thingy. It was lame.

Hey Mike, wandered through Barnes and Nobles to buy the new 2600 and saw a stack of these books. Thought of you! Super-cool. Hrmm, mebbe I should start trying to get my work published in books. Any tips, successful published man?

Also saw this interesting new toy being sold in a kiosk -- it's an emulator thingie, enclosed in an N64-esque gamepad, and has 72 NES games on it. It boggles me that they went through the trouble to license all these games, and the packaging is hardly professional.... Thus, I find it illegal-looking and suspect. I'll stick to my Dreamcast and burned emus.
