Good ol' Mosel River region), eating Chinese take-out, and eatching Spirited Away on DVD with my girlfriend. Ahhh, the joy of import DVDs on a region-hacked DVD player :D ...Up next is Shaolin Soccer to round out the night. Score one for the good guys! --kale |

Brody, I guess it all depends on what your field of study is, really... If you're going into a field where you're basically guaranteed a job -- business, compsci, polisci, the sciences, etc. I don't know what your major is, but as an art major, it's becoming increasingly obvious that I'm going to have a harder time making money in my field of choice than an engineering student. With that weighing on my mind heavily, it is certainly not in my best interest to carry $40,000 in debt, as I foresee that amount being extremely hard to pay off. I'm pretty sure ill have a hard enough time paying the bills once the free money stops coming in. Personally, I don't think the debt's worth it. I like free money,, which is why I'm going to a cheaper state school as opposed to a costly private school to which I got accepted but was only offered a quarter of the $25.000/year tuition in scholarships. Gives me more time to focus on things like class, my art, friends, school clubs, etc as opposed to having to take on a part-time job or two. Just my $.02. --kale |

Go with the one that offers you the most money. I'm currently attending Florida State because they're paying me to attend -- the school gives me enough money to pay the rent on my apartment, buy me food, pay for social outings, and also various luxuries (like my hiptop). The school isn't as good as various others, but I'd much rather earn money off school than graduate with $40,000 in debt. --kale |

| Art critique! Tue 04.08.03 11:15am PDT #4059 |
We had a critique in my digital photo class today. My piece is the thin strip -- a linear collage of a buncha my hiptop photos arranged chronologically. It's about three feet long at present -- plan is to keep adding to it see how long I can make it. I also want to do a similar piece organizing the pics by subject, overlapping the groups a la a crossword by intersecting pictures that fit into more than one group. Hiptop art! My professor loved it and gave me an A. Yay! I think I'll possibly use the pics in a photomosaic too, since they seem well suited for that as well. --kale |
