It was basically an interview with the digital guy, who showed me their setup (and sexy Agfa processor/printer). He sat me down on one of their computers, gave me a nasty old photo, and wanted to see what I could do. So I broke it out hardcore -- I scanned it and adjusted levels and curves, then started attacking the approxiately 76290324 spots and holes and discolorations. He had a beeeeeyootiful 12"x12" Wacom tablet which I gladly abused. As I worked, the guy stood over my shoulder and watched, and we talked shop easily -- I dropped my prof Richard's name (as he advised, mind you), and he was enthused; we also talked about Polaroids, digicams, retro computers, linux, etc. I'm sure I made a great impression, and I'm 90% sure I clenched the job.

Boo-frikkin-yah.

One thing I forgot about waking up and going out early is all the damned traffic. I've been staring at this guy's bumper for the past 15 minutes. At least I've got my fave radio station, WVFS 89.7, the Voice of Florida State.

I'm camping out @ CompUSA tonight! And maybe I'll dress up, too! :DDD

The boss and I talked easily for 45 minutes, and I think I made a great ipression. I wasn't hired on the spot -- does that only happen in movies and in tv sitcoms with "normal" people who are too good to be true? -- but I think I have a really good chance. My fave prof, Richard, has a spectacular working relationship with them, and I'm sure he'll tell them good things if they call him for a reference.

Here's to hoping I get a certain piece of good news (that sounds an aweful lot like "you start on Monday") soon...

I always deathly afraid that I won't clean up well and go in looking ratty, as that tends to be my fave mode of dress. I dyed my hair "normal", and if I'd known about this interview before 5:30pm yesterday, I would've hesititated a bit before getting my new plugs, as they're pretty obvious (at 8g, they just looked like normal earrings... at 4g, they're obviously plugs). Oh well... This is the best I can do. Wish me luck, fellow mobloggers.

Huzzah! I just got my lobes stretched again. Big jump this time -- from an 8g to a 4g. She put the 6g in and I could hardly feel it, so we went for the big jump. Doesn't hurt insanely much, though my lobes are warm and throbbing... But I'm only 3 steps away from my goal of 00g! Of course, by then I'll be addicted to the pain and keep going larger, until I can throw my lobes o'er my shoulder like a Continental soldier.... Do your ears hang low?

His cries are a broken "ne-ewww-ewww"... rather akin to a falsetto dinosaur. Infinately cute, to say the least. I love him to death, and he me, as he's quite affectionate (and jealous -- if my girlfriend's around, he won't give me the time of day). Ah, well, it's not as if I don't encourage the behavior, as I always burst into "I love your cuteness"-mode when he mews. Ah well.... Cats. Go figger.

I recently came into a buncha old Mac ethernet cards, both internal and external. The internal ones all have 10baseT as well as BNC connectors. Anybody want any? I have no use for them, and they ain't worth sheeeeyit....
