| 60 Minutes taping Wed 12.06.06 4:50pm PST #20011 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The tv show 60 Minutes was taping at my company the last 3 days, today being the big interview day. I was not on camera but got to listen in on the hard hitting interview done with our ceo. The piece will be about the real estate industry and how agents are overpaid for the work they do, and how companies like mine are fighting that by offering substantionally lower commissions. Should air in jan/feb. |

![]() ![]() Last day in vegas was much more tame. Kim & I got up early and headed to the MGM to get coked up.... psych! Just kidding (is a line from a Wu Tang song and I always think of it when mentioning the MGM). Wanted to get some final vegas in before checking out and calling it done. Ate at the Rainforest Cafe. Then we walked over to NYNY for some last gift shopping. Then we walked over to another gift store and had some sob satan spawn scum of the earth wish they had real job time share salespeople to contend with. My fast walk and look of hate scared them off I think. One last walk thru the MGM and back to our hotel to pack. We met upwith K&C for lunch, then walked over to Excalibur. Walked around, played some slots, one final schooling for me. For not having my Born to Lose shirt it sure felt like it was a reality. Then we hiked it back to the hotel, got our bags, and cabbed it to the airport. Starbucks and Wired magazine in hand, we wait for the plane I think its safe to call this trip done. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Started the day off getting a cab to Caesars. Finding breakfast was challenging and there is no sbux in this joint. We shopped around a bit, including the exotic car showroom, then grabbed a cab to Freemont street. The goal was to get some cheap merch, some cheap booze, and some good pictures. After some walking we set me up with 2 40s of OE. Got lit up right out there on the street. In the mean time Kim and Cathy played slots at some dump casino. From there we all went to Golden Nugget and signed up for the players club, also giving us 10 in free gambling money. I made 10 off of it, and Keefe 15, so a worthwhile stop. From there we cabbed it to the Rio. At at Bamoliya, mexican place. After eating we watched the show in the sky. From there we went up to the roof on the deck and had a 360 view of Las Vegas from the 51st floor. Then we went inside and got some drinks. Then down to the casino for some video roulette I took another beating as I haven't done so well with the gambling. Keefe on the otherhand is an sob and again nailed it, turning his 20 into well over 100 in quick time. The rest of the evening is a classic what happens in vegas stays in vegas. It involved free limo rides. After that we went back to the hotel and ate at the restaurant. All things considered we got back and in bed by 1:30am so travelling Monday won't be too rough. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Saturday we went nonstop. Here is a list of what went down mainly in list format. MGM to Starbucks Monorail to Paris Breakfast/lunch Bought Price is Right tickets Shopping at Paris Price is Right show (not taped but more or less like the tv show you get to win prizes etc. None of our group got to go up. Monorail to Hilton Star Trek experience for a few hours, they have 2 simulation rides now. Qwarks bar - got swervy on some Star Trek hooch Monorail back to MGM then walked to our hotel Cabbed it to NYNY bc it was freezing out Ate at an italian restaurant Cirque "Zoomanity" which is adult themed but overall pretty tame Walked to Luxor for no good reason as it was now after midnight and some of us were beat. So we then cabbed it back to hotel. Haven't taken too many sidekick pics since they come out bad, but I've been capturing more on our regular camera. Not sure what sunday has in store yet other than some shopping and going to the Rio. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dec 1st - off for Vegas with Kim, Cathy & Keefe. I caught a towncar from work to the airport, can't say it was worth $35 but so be it I showed up in a make-believe limo. I met everyone else at the terminal as they took a shuttle there together. After checking in and getting thru security which was a non event... much like going thru the US-Canada border (trumped up as difficult when I have more hassle at sbux when there's a line), we went and ate at some restaurant in the bar. I kicked the trip off for everyone as I ordered a double rum and pinnapple juice... then also Keefe got a super discount shot with his beer, so he got rum and we tossed that bad boy into my drink, making it a triple. Never has the airport been so fun. Our plane left a little late but they made up the time in the air. I was somewhat disappointed with how quickly my triple wore off. The plane was full and I got the isle and was nice enough to take one for the team and be the odd one out and sit across the row with 2 strangers. Luckily they kept their traps shut the whole way as I don't like chit chatting with strangers in general, especially if I have way out of it. Some CPA studying, rap music listening got me thru the trip. The baggage took about an hour to come out, not the best way to kick off a vegas trip. We got in our room... nice enough. The view is nothing to speak of, since its of nothing. K&C got the better end of the room deal... thiers faces the strip and has a king bed. Ours 2 double beds facing east into the desert. We then ate at the Hooters restaurant, good food. Then played some slots including Star Wars....then called it a night. Tomorrows plans include bfast at the Paris, Star Trek Experience, Cirques Zoomanity show in the evening, and whatever inbetween. Hopefully some shopping as I'm hot on the market for some jeans with character and word on the street is this is the place to get what I want. Also the tub here is regulation size... not oversized... I was looking forward to soaking in a big monster tub. Oh well, its better than nothing. |
| Snow. (North of Seattle) Tue 11.28.06 9:18pm PST #19951 |
Damn snow. Well I did get 2 days off work, and following the 4 day Thanksgiving weekend, so I can't complain. Although my car didn't fare too well. This was this morning, I got out of the driveway, only to find a tree down about 2 houses down to the left. So I backed up to where you see my car in this pic, and got nowhere else. It just spun on ice. And thus began the 2nd day of no work. Later in the day when the ice thawed a little, we took Annie to the vet and she is all good. The trip home was uneventful although my car is now in the exact same spot, except facing into the driveway. No way its going up our moderate hill driveway. I tried. Salt, cat litter, shoveled... no dice. Its not supposed to snow anymore tonight so it should be fine other than cold as hell and maybe some ice tomorrow am. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thansgiving weekend started with me bringing our cat Annie to the animal emergency bc she'd been sneezing for 2 days. They wanted to keep her overnight bc her liver values were weird. We got her back friday evening with medicine and special food. Friday was the big moving day when we got our tv. Took about 3 hours and lots of swearing to set it all up. Tv not so bad, but try to wire in surround sound, xbox, ps2, dvr and it becomes hell. Finally got everything to work.. Still a few tweaks and going to move some of the components otherwise good. Tv is amazing, crystal clear. Also made the long trip to Ikea for 2 chairs and footrest downstairs to hang out and enjoy it in. Also got part 1 of 2 of my new car project. Installing a dvd screen on the cubby that flips down, and next week my dvd/satelitte radio/mp3/cd head unit comes in. Should be fun stuff... if anything it makes me feel like I'm cool. That's about it. Hoping to get home soon to watch more tv, play more Xbox. For now, we pack more stuff at the inlaws. |
