| Uhm... Cuz it sucked? Wed 11.05.03 7:16am PST #7086 |
Sorensilk, for all of Matrix Reloaded's effects, the story was disappointing. It was a over-hyped movie promising to deliver answers and the continuing saga of Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus. It lacked the originality of the first movie, the depth of characters, and *any* plot coherence. I think the studio knows it, so less was spent promoting the third. Initial word-of-mouth and early reviews of Matrix Revolutions has been depressing. Has anyone else seen it and care to comment? |
| Yay! (My iTrip Shipped!) Mon 10.27.03 4:25am PST #6932 |
![]() ![]() ![]() After three months, my iTrip finally shipped! Griffin Technology shipped the iTrip for my 30GB Apple iPod late Friday. According to UPS, I should receive it tomorrow. :) Finally, no more dangling remote cord attached to the Belkin FM Tunecaster. The iTrip attachs to the top of the iPod and is controlled directly from the iPod's menus. |
| Let It Rain Down... Mon 10.27.03 3:54am PST #6931 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() One dreary Monday... As anyone on #hiptop (EFnet) can tell you, heavy rain (or thunderstorms) and Starband (satellite internet) aren't the best of friends. According to SigSampler, my signal was in-and-out last night as the storms rolled through Sterling, VA. Looks like today will be one wet Monday... |

| Fking alarm system Thu 10.23.03 3:24am PDT #6876 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Several of the fire alarms took it upon themselves to start chirping last night, followed by an alarm at the ADT panel... then the night got worse. Both ADT and the alarms are tied into the house's electrical system and backed up by several batteries. ADT, of course, is tied into the phone system. Why, hello, Loudoun County Sheriffs. Hello, neighbors. |
| Bored. Wed 10.22.03 10:46am PDT #6865 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I saw the "Great Falls" on hN and thought I saw another local... Then I saw "Montana." Great Falls is also on the Potomac between Maryland and Virginia, looks about the same too. Anyhoo... It's a slow day at office. The wind is howling outside and moving the clouds at a good clip. Pipe means 'or' in most languages, right? Is that last sign saying "Men or Handicapped", "Men are Handicapped", or "Ken is *REALLY* bored and grasping at straws?" |

| Reflective Hiptop Backing Tue 10.14.03 4:46am PDT #6763 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Based on G7's mod on the hiptop forum, I first lightly sanded the hiptop back panel (after removing it first, of course). I then applied two coats of the black base, then several coats of Krylon Mystique Blue/Purple, then several coats of the clear laquer to seal and protect it. After the laquer was dry, I buffed and polished the laquer to a smooth shine. I apologize for the photo quality and angles. These pics were taken of the sidekick using it's own camera in the mirror. I'll try to take a better set of pics using my Nikon Coolpix 995 later. You can also see G7's higher-quality pics on his Geocities page. I thought this was a phenomenon last night, but confirmed it this morning under various conditions. The metallic bits in the Krylon Mystique when sprayed on the back panel appear to be working as a partial antenna. I've noticed a 2-5 ASU improvement between using an unmodded panel (my old panel, which I kept) and the newly painted panel (which I had as a spare until now). I used both for comparison, held in the same area in the same positions, and the modded panel received high signal strengths. Hmmm... |
