My Pentium 4 desktop is running Redhat Linux 9 with a virtual session of Windows 2000 Professional under VMWare. My UltraSparc is running Solaris 9. Both have JDK2 1.4.1_02 and IntelliJ Idea 3.04 for my Java development, mapped to the CVS server.

I'm one happy geek now. :D

Mom might be released today after dialysis. Her fever is now gone and her pulse-ox is doing well. She called at 3am this morning to ask for soup, so she's doing a lot stronger. :D

My father-in-law and I are waiting in the visitor lounge as Vicky spends time with her mom in the room. The pics are taken from the eighth floor of Inova Fairfax Hospital in Arlington, VA. Dad's reading the paper as I took the pics. :)

I never realized "The Sims" was preceeded by Little Computer People for the Commodore-64 back in 1985 (Activision).

I'm taking the time to do something I've be meaning to do for a while: install Red Hat Linux 9 on my office machine and set it up as a dual-boot for Windows. I ran out during Disk 2 of the install to gas up the Jeep and run some errands. It's still cold, wet, and dreary outside.

Vicky's dad was released from the Washington Hospital Center. He had surgery for cataracts in his left eye yesterday. Vicky's mom is still in Inova Fairfax Hospital, being treated for pneumonia. She was running a very high fever (105') and incoherent, but the antibiotics started helping. When we left last night, she was sweating, tired, but knew who we were and where she was.

Vicky is spending the day with her dad, visiting mom in the hospital. I'll be going there after work.

"Matrix Reloaded" was awesome! I'll definitely be seeing it again tonight or tomorrow.

They called for rain today, but it was hot, sunny, and humid until an hour ago. It got dark all of the sudden, and now it's pouring. We're supposed to be getting thunderstorms through Saturday morning.

I'm just waiting for my brother-in-law, then we're driving over to Arlington to visit their parents. Poor Mom... pneumonia. She's none-too-happy and stuck in the hospital. :(
