![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fun with an action router that parses a hashmap of e-mail addresses (passed from a jsp), validates them against other addresses in Oracle (using jdbc) and opens javax.mail to send html pages to other users. Fun stuff, huh? (Don't even ask about the formatting of these pages-- a nested table nightmare to mimic frames with tabular data) |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We were over Vicky's parents' house earlier for a Father's Day cookout. We had some good grilled hot dogs and pork chops, then watched Wes Craven's "They" on DVD, which was a very decent horror movie about night terrors. Anyhoo, we're back at our house, it's mild and partly sunny. Vicky's playing on her b/w Sidekick, adding all her contacts to her Address Book. I was just fooling around on my color Sidekick, and took these pics. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Battery life has been great, on par with the b/w Sidekick. It's definitely cool to read hiptop forums and hiptop nation in color, and not wondering what the hell someone posted. Reading weather maps and radar is way cool. General readability is a lot better just to see black-on-white instead of dark-gray-on-yellowish-gray, makes for a lot sharper contrast. Just waiting for the higher-res camera now. How'd Galt (on ht) get one so fast? :) |
| Fun with UML Wed 06.11.03 11:57am PDT #4875 |

"Objected-Oriented Application Analysis and Design for Java Technology (UML), Volume 1 of 2" is my particular poison. Apparently, my office is very fond of sending managers to UML training courtesy of Sun Educational Services. The managers return, give their books to their subordinates, and expect Use Cases and Sequence Diagrams as result. ("Trickle-down Education" has GOT to be a good topic of a doctoral thesis in Business Admin... Has it been done already?) The last UML-like education I got was taking Booch Methodology in school about 7 years ago. :( Maybe this book will help? :P |

| Computer to spare, and yet... Wed 06.11.03 10:15am PDT #4871 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sometimes, even when you have two computers on your desk, you're still doomed to read UML books and draw Use Case Diagrams. I suspect I must have done something gravely wrong in a previous life to warrant such suffering in this one. Ryptyde: You can have my Dell Pentium 4 (1.5Ghz) running Redhat Linux 9, I like the Ultrasparc running Solaris 9 more. |
