Since getting married then buying our new townhouse, my Specialized Rockhopper has gone neglected. I just finished doing a tune & lube on it, and I'm about to take it for a ride... Catch ya later.

My wife and I are getting ready for a cookout this afternoon. My mom and dad are up from Florida in their RV, and they're visiting us this afternoon before their trip back.

We've had filet mignon marinading in Jack Daniel's Gourmet since last night. Vicky's making asparagus and we already have potato salad made up. I'll be grilling the steaks out back. Domaine d'Eole 1999 rose province wine and Siraz 2001 are set on the table to accompany our steak.

Nice cookout, huh? Picked up 8 filet mignon thinking that my brothers might drive down from Baltimore as well. I doubt they'll come, but there's food here for them if they should.

Here's why I'm so exhausted: a newly landscaped backyard. Glass and brass patio set, new propane grill with deep fryer, 128 bricks, 27 cinder blocks, 16 bags of soil, 8 bags of mulch, 4 clay pots, 4 spruces, two dozen merigold, petunias, several azaleas and hostas. The finished result? A finished backyard. :D

First Grilled Dinner

Vicky marinaded portobello mushrooms in Mr. Yoshida's Sauce with garlic powder, chili sauce, chili flakes, and pepper. She then marinaded shrimp in garlic, olive oil, lemon, seasoning powder, cajun pepper, and Worchestershire sauce.

After marinading for a half-hour in the fridge, I then skewered the shrimp and grilled the mushrooms and shrimp. We enjoyed the meal with a fine red wine and some ginger ale.

It was our first dinner outside on our new furniture set from the our new grill. I can definitely get used to this... We'll be grilling and eating outside a lot more this summer. :D

Vicky got me a new propane grill today. It has 3 burners in the front, and a steamer/deep dryer/warmer on the side! We also bought a new patio set for under the umbrella, and six azaleas for the English Garden we'll be creating with the rest of our back yard.

I'm planning on taking tomorrow off so I can roto-till the backyard. We're using natural brick to create two retaining walls, planting azaleas and annuals, and going to put a fountain in the rear left corner.
